How to Prioritize the Right Way

Do you often feel like you just don’t have enough time to tackle a new project or finish one you’ve been working on for some time? Like most of us your current challenges might have to do with project overload brought on by over ambitious thoughts. Often the best way to get back on track and start getting things done is to simplify  and streamline your real objectives. Really focus on your immediate core activities and consciously practice having more fun while doing them.

Think about your main reasons for taking on these projects.

  • Will they bring fulfilment into your life?
  • Will they bring you more of what you want?
  • Do they excite you when you think about them?

If you’ve answered a resounding “yes” to any or all of these questions then it’s definitely time to focus whole heartedly on this project and put the others on the back burner.

The next round of questions have to do with your personal value system. Asking these can help put your project/s in a deeper perspective.

  • What is the purpose of your life’s work and do these projects contribute to this theme?
  • What are you  trying to accomplish with these projects and do they add more meaning to your life and career?
  • Did you pick these projects based on what you wanted or did you say “yes” and start them based on others desires?

These are important questions to consider when your evaluating your current projects and your progress momentum or lack thereof. Have you got the wind in your sails and can predict a reasonable completion date? if not, you might consider stoping that project so you can focus on completing the one most likely to be finished first.

By making this one adjustment and giving more energy to completion you will be pleasantly surprised how much easier it is to finish your next project.

The best thing about project elimination is that it gives you lot’s of FREE TME which quickly equates to more FREEDOM. Freedom to pick and choose a more fulfilling life by increasing and honouring your own Personal Freedom.
