Either – Or

I can understand in some instances when choices are extremely limited and one might be forced into an either-or predicament. However, even in those instances I can’t help but wonder if there’s perhaps another possible choice or alternative? That’s just how my brain’s always worked. What about yours?

Is there not so many variants in between our choices? Little tweaks that can make huge differences to a situation. My lovely wife Christina aka The Motherpreneur often remarks that…

“It’s always the little things that count”

She’s so right because all the little things will eventually add up to a big thing. And you might even notice that when someone gives you an ultimatum that you’re either “with us or against us” it’s the same thing as saying, “I’m either all good or all bad but I can’t be both.” What bullocks these statements are because we’re clearly “all of that and everything in between.”

What I realized a long time ago that people will try anything they can to short cut the hard work, the real work of expressing their total feelings and expanding their intellect in order to properly communicate what they’re really feeling and really thinking. It’s not easy to be undecided about your next move or how your business is doing or how your life is shaping up. It’s much easier to give yourself and others a strict ultimatum. Either you take this opportunity now or miss out on it.

Well, that may be true but one thing I know for sure is that there’ll always be another great opportunity or another chance to make things right. The only thing we don’t know for sure is how much time we have before the curtain closes. And it is, for this reason, that you must weigh your motives and your decisions based on your true life’s goals, dreams, and values.
