How often do you Google yourself, your spouse, your colleagues, your kids, your employee’s, your business partners, including your potential employees and business partners?
If you’re not easily searchable then in my mind you have an even greater risk at having your info stolen.
At the beginning of the Internet age we all sought Anonymity. Everyone had a crazy AOL or Yahoo email. We didn’t want people to know who we were. All the comment sites were anonymous. You could say anything and get away with it without the risk of people knowing who you were. The web was dominated by anonymous thrill-seekers speaking up without the risk of being judged or found out.
These days are gone and I think you can see how small/big the world is now. It’s time to take control of your own identity and say what you feel, speak your truth, collaborate, make comments, put yourself out there.
Chances are you might find a few who agree with you and might want to align with you and your online life. Your online persona can be full of fun and possible new connections. These online connections might possibly turn into real world business.
Get Real with who you are, start a blog and begin to express your thoughts, feelings and beliefs. Ask the world to participate if they have the time and inclination.
When I Google or Duck Duck you . I want to be able to find YOU.
Back to Brand New YOU!!
Brand yourself stand up for who you are and what you believe. Encourage others to do the same.
This is wise advice in business, life and the rest. If you hadn’t noticed the World Wide Web is the great democratization of ideas and freedom of expression. I know you know all this but sometimes it’s good to be reminded.
Don’t ONLY be a consumer of other peoples content,
Get out there and create your own!
