When faced with a challenge how do you respond?
- Do you put on your diligent head and start to fight?
- Do you look at your viable options, weigh and prioritized them then put your head down and get busy on your solutions?
- Do you ignore it and hope/pray it will change or go away?
Sure enough, how you deal with your challenges both big and small will determine your ultimate success. There’s no right or wrong way to deal with any one issue. In fact, some problems will solve themselves with a little patience and a hands off approach while others are in dire need of a good fight in order to be resolved.
Knowing which strategy to use often takes some trial and error. If you’re a fighter or #1 type and find that your consistent use of this style has got you stuck maybe it’s time to try out strategy #2 or #3 as a last resort.
If you’re normally quite a logical and patient type #2 then you might want to be a bit more of an impulsive fighter the next time you’re faced with a big challenge. You’ll be surprised how effective this strategy can be.
If you’re a typical #3 you probably aren’t reading my blog, meaning you’re not a typical entrepreneur, top sales professional or effective business person. However, this strategy is a great last resort if you’ve tried the other two methods without a result.
Sometimes challenges are too big and out of your scope and indicative of your industry as a whole. In this instance all you can do is apply strategy #3 while using your intellect and personal wisdom in order to apply strategy #4 which is to transition into a new job or a new industry altogether.
